2012 Joint Statistical Research Program

Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management 22nd Annual Health Economic Conference (AHEC).
Possible topics for this year’s “Health Care Markets” theme include:

  • Provider competition
  • Insurer competition
  • Competition among suppliers (e.g., drugs and diagnostics)
  • Vertical and horizontal integration in provider, payer and supplier markets
  • Quality disclosure and pay for performance in competitive and regulated systems

Present a paper
A panel of applied micro-economists will select up to 12 papers for presentation at AHEC, with a slight preference given to junior faculty; we also welcome submissions from doctoral students. If you would like to present at AHEC, please submit a completed paper or an extended abstract (1 to 2 pages) no later than July 1. Send your submission to Jeanne Sheppard (please put “AHEC submission” in the subject line). Please forward this announcement to any researchers who may be interested.

AHEC follows a “you pay your way, we pay your stay” model: A grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality covers lodging and food, while you are responsible for travel costs to and from Evanston, Illinois.
The conference will run from approximately 1:00 p.m. on October 3 through 4:30 p.m. on October 4, 2011. We look forward to reviewing your papers.
